NCS was engaged to undertake a feasibility study for the Imaging Department at Sunshine Hospital, assessing opportunities to expand diagnostic imaging capabilities and support future clinical demand within the operational healthcare facility. The study evaluated the feasibility of installing a new PET-CT unit, as well as the potential future addition of an MRI unit within the existing imaging department. Working within a live hospital environment, NCS assessed spatial requirements, operational impacts, infrastructure constraints, and service integration considerations to determine viable delivery options. The feasibility outcomes provided Western Health with a strategic foundation for future planning, investment decisions, and the enhancement of diagnostic services across the hospital. Sunshine Hospital Theatre Refurbishment
The Sunshine Hospital Theatre Refurbishment project upgraded outdated theatres and introduced new clinical spaces to improve reliability, modernise equipment and services, and enhance overall surgical capability. Some of the works in the project include the construction of six new operating theatres, delivery of two day procedure units, and development of a dedicated endoscopy room. A series of supporting upgrades were also completed to strengthen clinical capacity and improve patient flow across the facility. Designed in collaboration with health consultants and stakeholders, the project aims to create a therapeutic and functional workplace that aligns with best practice in mental health service delivery.
